Cardinals Winter League Notebook 12-24-15: Francisco Rivera Singles Twice, Doubles, & Drives In Two Runs; Felipe Lopez Collects Two Singles & One RBI; Jesus Garcia On The Rehab Trail Back



Venezuelan League:

Ildemaro Vargas (former Palm Beach-Lara) started at second base and batted second.  0-for-3 with one run, one sacrifice, and assisted in two double plays.

Jesus Garcia (DSL-Mazatlan) began a throwing program back home in Boca del Rio (Veracruz), Mexico a couple weeks ago.  He is recovering from Tommy John surgery and possibly will be ready for spring training.

Newly signed Jesus Daniel Garcia (MiLB signing-Veracruz) posted a 4-4 record (had at least six starts), 2.35 ERA, and one save in the Mexican Academy League.  He allowed 53 hits, 24 runs (15 earned), 17 walks, hit seven batters, threw five wild pitches, and struck 40 out over 57 innings.
