Cardinals Winter League Notebook 10-3-19: Alex Mejia Singles, Doubles, & Drives In One Run; Zach Phillips Strikes Out Two Of Three Batters Faced For The Win; Elehuris Montero Singles, Triples, & Walks

Mexican League Championship:

Xavier Scruggs (former St. Louis-Yucatan) started in right field and moved to first base, batting fifth.  1-for-4 with three strikeouts.

Alex Mejia (former St. Louis-Monclova) started at shortstop and batted eighth.  2-for-4 with one double, one RBI, and one run.
Zach Phillips (former Memphis-Monclova) entered in the sixth and pitched to three batters.  He allowed one hit, no runs, and struck two out for the winning decision (2-0).  (p-s:17-13)

Arizona Fall League:

Conner Capel (Springfield-Glendale) started in left field and batted sixth.  1-for-4 with two strikeouts.
Elehuris Montero (Springfield-Glendale) started at third base and batted seventh.  2-for-3 with one triple, one walk, and one strikeout.
Ivan Herrera (Palm Beach-Glendale) started at catcher and batted eighth.  1-for-4 with one strikeout, one throwing error, and threw out one of two base runners.
