Cardinals Winter League Notebook 2-6-13

Caribbean Series


Luis Mateo (Quad Cities-Caguas) started at shortstop and batted ninth.  1-for-4 with one RBI, one strikeout, and assisted in two double plays.

Joe Thurston (former St. Louis-Magallanes) started in left field and batted sixth.  0-for-3 with one ground into double play.

Caribbean Series

Randy Ruiz (former MiLB signing- Mayaguez) started as designated hitter and batted fourth.  0-for-4 with one ground into double play.
Ruben Gotay (former Memphis-Mayaguez) started at third base and batted eighth.  0-for-3 with two strikeouts.

Iker Franco (former Springfield-Obregon) started at catcher and batted seventh.  1-for-3 with one RBI.
Randy Keisler (former St. Louis-Obregon) started and pitched seven innings.  He allowed four hits, no runs, one walk, and struck five out for the winning decision (1-0). (p-s:83-54)(g/f:10-2)
