Cardinals Winter League Notebook 12-23-16: Hector Manuel Soto Signs With The Cardinals; Jackson Solarte Strikes Out Seven Over Six & A Third Scoreless Innings For The Win; Niko Vasquez Doubles, Homers, & Drives In Two Runs In Doubleheader



Venezuelan League:

Notes:
Hector Manuel Soto (MiLB signing-Monterrey-Mochis), who just signed a minor league deal with St. Louis, made two relief appearances posting a 1-0 record in the 2014 U-15 Baseball Cup.  He allowed three hits, three earned runs, one walk, hit one batter, and struck three out over three innings (g/f:3-2).  He was named to the Mexican team for the Panamerican Sub-18 Championship in September-October, 2016.  The right-hander pitched for Monterrey in the LMB Academy.  He made two relief appearances during the 2016 season posting a 0-0 record, 1.50 ERA, and .217 OBA.  He allowed five hits, two runs (one earned), one walk, threw one wild pitch, and struck four pout over six innings.  Soto was selected by Mochis in the 2016 LMP draft.
