Cardinals Winter League Notebook 10-14-16: Cesar Valera Singles, Doubles, Walks, & Drives In Four Runs; Breyvic Valera Doubles, Homers, & Knocks In Two Runs; Jesus Ustariz Collects One Single, One Double, & Two RBIs



Venezuelan League:

Jose Godoy (Peoria-Caribes) started at catcher and batted eighth.  1-for-3 with one two-out RBI, one run, one walk, one hit by pitch, and allowed one stolen base.
Cesar Valera (former Palm Beach-Caribes) started at shortstop and batted ninth.  2-for-4 with one double, four two-out RBIs, two runs, one walk, and assisted in one double play.
Roberto Canache (former Johnson City-Caribes) entered in the seventh and pitched one inning.  He allowed one hit and no runs.  (p-s:10-8)(g/f:2-1)

Ildemaro Vargas (former Palm Beach-Lara) started at second base and batted second.  1-for-4 at the plate.

Hector Garcia (former Johnson City-La Guaira) entered late in the game at first base and batted leadoff.  1-for-2 with one RBI.
Jose Gonzalez (former Springfield-La Guaira) started at first base and moved to catcher, batting second.  1-for-3 with one run and one strikeout.
