Cardinals Winter League Notebook 10-28-16: Eliezer Alfonzo Doubles & Drives In Three Runs (Including 500th Career RBI); Jose Martinez Singles, Walks, & Knocks In Two Runs; Anderson Gerdel Strikes Out Three Over Four Scoreless Innings



Venezuelan League:

Roberto Canache (former Johnson City-Caribes) entered in the tenth and pitched 2.1 innings.  He allowed two hits, one earned run, one intentional and struck three out for the losing decision (1-1).  (p-s:47-28)(g/f:1-2)

Jose Martinez (St. Louis-La Guaira) started in right field and batted fifth.  1-for-4 with two RBIs, one walk, and one strikeout.
Jose Gonzalez (former Springfield-La Guaira) entered late in the game at catcher and batted eighth.  1-for-1 and threw out one of two base runners.
Pedro Echemendia (Memphis-La Guaira) entered in the tenth and pitched one inning.  He allowed two hits and no runs.  (p-s:18-11)(g/f:0-1)
